The Angelo's Family Story

In 1959, Salvatore Cusumano was struggling to provide for his wife and two sons while living in Sicily, Italy. In pursuit of a better life for his family, he traveled alone to America in order to find work. Once he arrived in New York City, he landed a job in construction and started working on the City's most prominent buildings including the World Trade Center and Madison Square Garden.

He soon landed a part-time job at a pizzeria, and after learning how to make pizza; he opened his first pizzeria called Riccardo's in Brooklyn, New York, located on the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Fulton.

Once he was able to afford a substantial living, he brought his family to America, relocated to Willingboro, New Jersey, and went on to open multiple Riccardo's locations. His three sons decided to follow in their father's footsteps and established their own brand of pizza known as Angelo's Pizza.

As second-generation operators and founders, the Cusumano sons grew Angelo's from one location to three. Today, a third generation is making sure the family business continues to grow by opening even more locations.
